The down to earth simplicity and clean way of sharing her innermost feelings can be seen in this versatile, ever smiling artist through her paintings. She is always thanking God for all He has done for her by using nature and her surroundings as the theme in her works. Of her many interests other than art, she has been active with playing the sitar, Bonsai Ikebana, embroidery, traveling and enjoys an artistic home in Lucknow since the last thirty years. She also enjoys helping upcoming artists.
From a very early age she has been fortunate to be in the company of famous poets, artists and philosophers (Mohan Rakesh, Dr. Dharamvir Bharti, Kamleshwar, N. S. Bendre, Ram Kumar and J Krishnamurthi). In 1990, she met her true satguru who moulded her thoughts and gave her positive attitude to life and took her out of deep sorrow of a lost sister and mother in an untimely accident. This resulted in some good work being selected at The Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi. Psychologists say, "It is recreating a new reality with the process of artistic sublimation. It is possible only when deep within the painful past produces something one cannot imagine".
She feels that to sensuous dame of colors play a very important part in her paintings. The dark tones show the complexities and the bright ones show the happiness and joy. Man needs someone all the time to share his fearss and doubts, so she feels man is divided all the time in four thoughts of:
The mind, body, soul and beyond;
Childhood, youth, old age and death;
Past, present, future and elernity;
Morning, afternoon, evening and night
When man gets deep sleep there is absolute stillness.
So the small strokes in her painting show the tiny tales, episodes, people, events and thought which are unending..... enjoy each one and you will be absolutely still.
She says, "The whole life is a tapasya. All the answers be within us. So just look within to discover your true innerself.
She has truly learnt the value of quietude which shows how ones concentration improves. Only then can one see things and not get entangled whenever one is , with patience and ease. She says, "Painting is a spiritual gift of God". |
